On the Issues
Our economy is growing. Washington has weathered the economic challenges better than most, but there are parts of our state and community that have not seen the same kind of recovery. As a small business owner, I can say with authority that we should be doing more to support job creation in our communities.
Our state needs to address educational challenges by prioritizing education in our budgets to reflect our values. We need to give greater flexibility to school leaders in our communities and restore parental and student choice in educational decisions. We should encourage parents to take a more active role in their children's education. We can do all these things without raising taxes.
We should do more to support local farmers so that they can compete nationally and in overseas markets. I am committed to helping secure and strengthen our farmers' water rights now and into the future.
